I've been a journalist for 20+ years, with roles as varied as cops/courts reporter, long-form features writer, travel editor, breaking news editor, arts & culture editor and newsroom consumer experience & content director. I spent 12 years as an editor at IndyStar, focused on product and audience development and creative storytelling. In 2019, Leslie Bailey and I co-founded Indy Maven to connect central Indiana women through storytelling and events.
Beyond bylines and storytelling, I like to disappear into the woods as often as possible, read historical nonfiction, watch art and fashion documentaries, explore neighborhoods, see what's up with the Owls of the Day Insta account and search for the best ice cream flavor in Indy with my teenage daughter.
I'm excited about working for a news organization that doesn't view its audiences as consumers who need to be packaged and delivered to advertisers; and working with journalists and editors who have deep community connections and new ideas and approaches.
