The B-Sides vinyl dance party took place on Jan. 20 at the Blind Tiger speakeasy, 304 E New York St.

B-Sides is a monthly event at The Commissary’s evening companion concept called Blind Tiger, it invites attendees to bring their own vinyl.

In addition to the variety of music (house to neo soul to dark wave), you also find yourself among a wide ranging audience. The resulting eclectic combination leads to dancing in the barbershop while the other half of the space serves up drinks and offers seats to listen to the music, enjoy conversation and catch your breath.

The space lends itself to the event so effortlessly, you’ll forget it’s not a traditional dance venue.

DJs Littletown, David Peck, and Pook take turns showcasing their different styles, creating an evening full of exciting and unpredictable mixes. It’s far too easy to go for a few songs and end up staying until the lights come on.

Being in the middle of the dance floor to take photos is its own magic. It’s a reminder of what I love most about photography — bottling up a fleeting feeling or moment into an image.

See you at the next one?
