It may be cold outside but you can still get your steps in this weekend at Wayne Township schools’ annual Wayne Winter Games & Giant Health Fair.
Part health fair and part athletic contest, the free event connects families to health screenings and fitness demonstrations. Most health fair activities begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at Ben Davis High School, 1200 N. Girls School Road. Enter through Door 2.
Attendees can visit Fitness Fun Stations to check booths off their event passport and compete for prizes. Stations include activities such as jumping rope, stacking cups and relays.
There will also be free swim, fitness and dance class demonstrations, and guests are invited to complete the “Giant Mile” — a one-mile walking tour of Ben Davis High School.
The Giant Health Fair will also feature a blood drive conducted by Versiti Blood Center of Indiana and mobile lung screenings offered by IU Health. Advanced registration is encouraged for both of these opportunities.
A schedule of Giant Health Fair activities and online registration, where needed, is available at the Wayne Township Education Foundation website.
