It’s not every day you get to defend famous athletes in trouble with the law, but that’s how James Voyles Jr. has spent his legal career.
The Indianapolis-based attorney, known as a “lawyer of the stars,” has represented a number of high-profile clients, including boxer Mike Tyson, former Indiana Pacers player Stephen Jackson, the late Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay and former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez.
On Jan. 27, Voyles will discuss his new book, “ALL RISE: My Life and Trials with the Famous, the Infamous, and the Misunderstood.” The book offers readers a behind-the-scenes look at Voyles’ legal career, from celebrity court cases to the complexities of the American justice system.
The event, which will take place in the Central Library’s Clowes Auditorium, is free and open to the public. Guests can purchase copies of the book and attend a book signing following the discussion.
