Protect Pike Township will host a public meeting Monday, Jan. 26, to discuss what impacts a high tech innovation hub in Boone County will have on the Eagle Creek reservoir.

The meeting will take place 7-8:30 p.m. at the Pike Performance Arts Center, 6701 Zionsville Road. It will include representatives from Citizens Energy Group and Lebanon Utilities, the company that provides water for the 9,000-acre LEAP Research and Innovation District.

In October 2024, Citizens Energy signed a deal to provide up to 25 million gallons of water per day to Lebanon Utilities.

Citizens Energy said the water would be drawn from multiple sources throughout the city, not just from Eagle Creek. But some residents still have questions about the project, including what effect water withdrawals would have on the creek and the wildlife that depend on it.
