Since 2023, Indianapolis Documenters have attended hundreds of public meetings in Marion County. Every week, we scour the internet for public meetings and publish our coverage on Documenters.org.

Monday, February 10

Franklin Township Community School Corporation at 6 p.m., 6141 S Franklin Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46259

The Franklin Township School Board holds regular meetings on the fourth Monday of each month at 6 p.m. The role of the School Board is to create policy. The role of the Superintendent is to implement the policy through administrative guidelines, directives and daily interactions with staff, students and the community.

Citizens’ Police Complaint Board at 6 p.m., Martin Luther King Community Center, 40 W. 40th St, Indianapolis, IN, 46208

The Citizens’ Police Complaint Board reviews complaints brought to the attention of the Citizens’ Police Complaint Office. The board has nine voting members, three non-voting members, and one IMPD member, the City-County Council appoints six and one IMPD member, and the Fraternal Order of Police appoints one member.

Perry Township School Board at 6 p.m., 2115 E Southport Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46227

The seven-member Board of Education for the Metropolitan School District of Perry Township is the policy-making board representing the community’s interest. The board ensures excellence in education for our diverse student population at every grade level by focusing on quality instruction, managing systems efficiently, and encouraging a culture of success.

Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township Board Meeting at 6:30 p.m., 1220 S High School Road, Indianapolis, IN 46241

The Wayne Township Board of Education is composed of seven citizens elected at large on a nonpartisan ballot in the primary election of each even-numbered year. Board members set policies and have final authority over local school corporation matters.

Tuesday, February 11

Indianapolis Public Library Board Committee Meetings at 10 a.m., Library Services Center 2450 N Meridian St, Indianapolis, IN 46208

The primary responsibility of the Board of Trustees Committees is to provide governance and policy reviews in the areas of finance; diversity, policy, and human resources; and facilities; which are described below:

  • The Finance Committee works to determine the scope of appropriations for Library programs and services, facility maintenance, and new construction. This committee provides input in the creation of the Library’s yearly budget and tax rate, as well as oversight in the appropriate administration of public tax monies.
  • The Diversity, Policy, and Human Resources Committee reviews Library policies to ensure compliance with accepted operating procedures and employment practices. This committee also provides oversight in the establishment of a diverse and competent staff at all levels throughout the Library system.
  • The Facilities Committee reviews plans and proposals related to the construction, maintenance, and security of Library facilities and properties, furnishings, vehicles, collection delivery system, computers, and technology infrastructure. This committee also provides oversight of facilities-related contractual services

Indianapolis Housing Agency Board of Commissioners at 1 p.m., 546 E 17th St, Indianapolis, Indiana 46202 Indianapolis, IN 46202

The Indianapolis Housing Agency Board of Commissioners oversees the federally-funded government housing agency that provides low-income families, seniors, and families with disabilities access to Indianapolis Housing Agency properties.

IndyGo Open House on Blue Line Construction at Noon and 5 p.m., 1501 W Washington ST Indianapolis, IN 46222

IndyGo is hosting a series of public meetings starting the week of Feb. 10, before kicking off construction of the Blue Line Bus Rapid Transit route. The meetings allow IndyGo representatives to provide details about construction planning, discuss the anticipated construction timeline and traffic impacts, and answer questions.

There are five board members that meet the second Tuesday of each month unless otherwise noted. Regular meeting agendas will be posted to this website two working days before the meeting. Approved minutes will be posted following Board approval at the next board meeting.

MSD of Washington Township School Board at 6 p.m., 8550 Woodfield Crossing Blvd, Indianapolis, Indiana 46240 Indianapolis, IN 46240

The Washington Township Board of Education is composed of five citizens elected to establish policy.

Perry Township Board meeting at 7 p.m., 4925 Shelby St Indianapolis, IN 46227

The Perry Township Board comprises five individuals, each serving a four-year term. As a local government unit, the Board advises the Trustee on matters of financial management and capital expenditures.

Thursday, February 13

IndyGo Service Committee at 8:30 a.m., 1501 W Washington St Indianapolis, IN 46222

A seven-member Board of Directors approves IndyGo policies relating to operations, contracted services, safety, finance, and overall corporate structure. The Mayor of Indianapolis and the City-County Council of Indianapolis and Marion County appoint the bipartisan group. The mayor selects three members and the Council selects four.
