In Marion County, there’s lots of ways to get help filing your taxes — for free.
You can do it online at myfreetaxes.com. Or, if you’re a Marion County resident who makes $67,000 or less each year, or has a disability or speaks limited English, you can get help from the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.
The VITA program, hosted by Purdue Extension, offers free tax help at six sites in Indianapolis.
The sites will be open during tax season, generally between February and April. To get free tax help, you’ll have to make an appointment online. Appointments aren’t available yet because of delays from the IRS. If you have questions, reach out to Ashley Piland at wood246@purdue.edu.
Older adults can also get free help from AARP at four sites in Indianapolis.
This story will be updated throughout tax season.
