This year, I’ve decided not to do any typical New Year’s resolutions. I’m not losing weight, reading more nonfiction or cutting down on caffeine. That kind of resolution doesn’t stick past mid-January for me, anyway.
But who says the idea of a New Year’s resolution can’t be used for something more fun? I’ve been brainstorming examples of these unserious goals, and here’s what I’m planning to do in 2026 so far:
- Keep more than one plant alive for the whole year.
- Send postcards to friends through snail-mail.
- Use a catchphrase as many times as I can until my coworkers catch on.
Now it’s your turn! Call Mirror Indy at 317-268-2017 and leave us a voicemail with your silly or unserious New Year’s resolution.
We’ll share your responses in a story once we’re back from our holiday break.
