Harris was elected for her first term on the Warren Township Board in 2020. She is from Indianapolis and serves as assistant superintendent at Wayne Township schools. She has a doctorate of philosophy in educational leadership from Purdue University.
Her priorities as a board member include:
- Increasing the budget for resources that go to families who are dealing with rising costs of groceries, rent and mortgage payments.
- Spreading awareness that these resources are available in each township.
