Have you ever wondered what you can do to fix that crumbling alley behind your house? Or do you want to know how the alley got that bad in the first place?
City-County Councilor Jesse Brown will host a town hall about alleys from 6:30-8 p.m. July 17 at Westminster Neighborhood Services, 2325 E. New York St.
You can RSVP here.
Brown, an eastside Democrat, said in an email to constituents that the goal of the town hall is to discuss the scale of the problem and come up with solutions.
“The event will not be a place to gripe, cast blame, or throw tomatoes,” Brown wrote.
Data from the city shows eastsiders have some of the worst alleyways in Indianapolis when it comes to disrepair and illegal dumping. But the town hall is open to anyone.
The Department of Business and Neighborhood Services is in the process of identifying some alleyways to clean up and potentially resurface. Most of those alleys are on the east and southeast sides.
