A documentary about how to solve homelessness will get another screening in Indianapolis.
“Beyond the Bridge: A Solution to Homelessness” will play at 6 p.m. Aug. 14 at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 100 W. 86th St.
The screening, organized by the Greater Indianapolis Multifaith Alliance, is part of a push for faith communities to donate to Streets to Home Indy. The initiative’s goal is to end long-term and unsheltered homelessness by 2028.
The program has an estimated cost of $8.1 million. Some of the money is already accounted for through the City-County Council and private fundraising.
The goal is for the faith community to bring in $270,000.
“Beyond the Bridge” was screened in Indianapolis for the first time in August 2024 at Butler University.

Mirror Indy spoke with the film’s producer and director, Don Sawyer, ahead of the event last year. Sawyer said he wants people who see the film to understand that homelessness is both complicated and easy to fix.
“And,” he said, “it is not normally the fault of homeless people.”
