The Indianapolis Housing Agency has resumed in-person, walk-in sessions for Section 8 voucher holders and landlords.
The sessions have proven to be necessary for many renters who are otherwise unable to reach anyone at IHA by phone or email.
Walk-ins take place from 1-3 p.m. every other Wednesday at the IHA headquarters, 1935 N. Meridian St. Doors open at noon for people to sign in.
The next one is Feb. 19. The full schedule is posted on IHA’s website.
This week will also be the first for Yvonda Bean, who starts this week as IHA’s new CEO. She previously ran housing agencies in South Carolina and Louisiana.
Bean will be tasked with making over a troubled agency that has been under federal control since April 2024.
A Mirror Indy investigation last year found that the agency had struggled for more than two decades to properly administer its Section 8 voucher program.
