Teens on the east side can become advocates for their neighborhood by joining the IndyEast Promise Neighborhood’s Youth Advisory Board.
IndyEast Promise Neighborhood is an initiative launched by the John Boner Neighborhood Centers and Edna Martin Christian Center to support the needs of students attending schools in the Martindale Brightwood and near eastside communities.
Organizers are seeking teen ambassadors who live on the east side or will attend an eastside high school during the 2026-27 school year. Eligible high schools include Arsenal Tech, KIPP Indy Legacy High and Purdue Polytechnic.
Participating students will lead community projects, organize events, meet with neighborhood leaders and build their networking skills through college visits and public speaking opportunities.
Teens will receive meals and a stipend for their work. Students must commit to monthly meetings for 10 months and be available to assist with events and activities. High schoolers must also have access to reliable transportation.
Applications are available online and must be submitted by April 17 for consideration. Contact Lynn Kinslow at lkinslow@ednamartincc.org with questions.
