Indy Parks and Recreation wants community input on the future of Grassy Creek Regional Park.

The public can attend a meeting 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16 at the Grassy Creek Environmental Community Center, 3510 N. German Church Road.

Indy Parks will share information about creating a new master plan for the park. The park’s last master plan was created in 2009.

Community members can learn about the Department of Public Works’ Grassy Creek Trail project and the discussions that Indy Parks had with Indianapolis Public Schools about acquiring the former John Marshall High School sports fields. The parks department is collecting feedback from residents with an online survey. This feedback will be used to create the new master plan for Grassy Creek Regional Park.

More information can be found on the Indy Parks and Recreation Facebook page

A correction was made on Dec. 17, 2025.: A previous version of this story misstated the land would be acquired from John Marshall Middle School. It would be acquired from John Marshall High School.
