IndyGo will no longer run a bus along East New York Street once the road is open to two-way traffic this summer.
Instead, Route 3 will shift to Michigan Street, which the city is also converting to a two-way street. Route 3 currently goes west on Michigan and east on New York.
IndyGo will make the route change once the Department of Public Works completes the two-way conversion project between College Avenue and Ellenberger Park. A DPW spokesperson said the streets are expected to open to traffic in both directions by early July.
As part of the change, Michigan Street will have 15 new eastbound bus stops.
Other changes
IndyGo will also make minor schedule changes to Routes 3, 8, 38 and 56, as well as the Purple and Red lines.
Those changes will take effect June 8.
You can find a schedule and map for all IndyGo bus routes online.
