The Marion County Public Health Department will offer naloxone training 2-3 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Community Alliance of the Far Eastside, 8902 E. 38th St.

Naloxone is a lifesaving medication used to reverse opioid overdoses.

The goal of the session is to train people on how to recognize the signs of an overdose, reduce overdose risks, access medical services and administer naloxone.

After the training, each participant will be eligible to receive an overdose prevention kit. The kit includes instructions and the nasal spray.

Interested participants can register online.
