A note from the editor:
My Culture Journal is a weekly series where residents share a look into their cultural lives. This week’s journal was written by artist Shamira Wilson, who is learning how to speak and write in Portuguese. Because journaling is part of Wilson’s daily practice, these entries are written in a style and format that reflect her meditative approach to words and ideas.
If you are interested in submitting a journal, please email to Mirror Indy arts and culture editor Jennifer Delgadillo at jennifer.delgadillo@mirrorindy.org and tell us about yourself.
Day One:
lembre-se de que a luz atrai tudo, não apenas o que é como você. as vezes você atrai lições para mostrar o que não faz parte de você. o que você foca cresce, certifique-se de plantar sementes autênticas, essas são as que vão passar pela estação.
remember that light attracts everything, not just what is like you. sometimes you attract lessons to show what is not part of you. what you focus on grows, make sure you plant authentic seeds, these are the ones that will make it through the season.
