Southeastsiders are invited to a community resource fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 15 at Southeast Community Services, 901 S. Shelby St.

The Southside U.S. Colored Troop Coalition is organizing the event. The coalition was formed in 2021 by descendants of the U.S. Colored Troop — African American soldiers in the Civil War. The coalition aims to preserve and revitalize the southside communities founded by members of the U.S. Colored Troops.

The resource fair will feature information on scholarships, health services and infrastructure initiatives.

Residents can also connect with workforce development training opportunities, eviction prevention programs and record expungement services.

The event is free.
