Students from three Indianapolis high schools are showcasing their writing skills and creativity through a new, food-focused zine.
The magazine-like publication, called “Too Many Cooks,” features the works of students who participated in the Patachou Foundation’s summer Food Fellowship Program, which seeks to teach high schoolers real-world skills and connect them to mentors in the food industry.

The students’ first edition of “Too Many Cooks” explores themes of food justice, sustainability and community empowerment through art, poetry, essays and interviews. It also offers reflections of students’ summer experiences in hospitality, culinary arts, urban agriculture and coffee.
