The Ukrainian Society of Indiana needs your help to pack meals Dec. 6 for thousands of families in war-torn Ukraine.

It’s happening on what’s traditionally celebrated as St. Nicholas Day, when St. Nicholas delivers gifts to children by placing them under their pillows or in their shoes overnight.

But, since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, more than 7 million children have been displaced or have had their lives disrupted by the war, according to Georgetown University’s Collaborative on Global Children’s Issues.

The Ukrainian Society of Indiana and the Indianapolis-based nonprofit Pack Away Hunger plan to prepare more than 40,000 meals that will be distributed to those in need in Ukraine.

The groups have all the food they need, but are looking for volunteers.
