You don’t need to sacrifice your savings to celebrate your significant other this Valentine’s Day. Here are five date ideas for lovers of all interests, all for $30 a person or less. And if you’re anti-Valentine’s Day or would rather celebrate with friends, skip to the end — we’ve got something for you, too.

For the cinephiles

🗓️ Noon to 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14
📍Kan-Kan Cinema & Bar, 1258 Windsor St.
🎟️ $12-15 for tickets

Dinner and a movie will forever be the perfect date night combo, and you can accomplish both at the Kan-Kan Cinema & Bar.

Start the night at the Kan-Kan’s on-site restaurant, The Final Cut by King Dough, for less than $5 a slice. Then grab a fun beverage and settle in for an evening of arthouse cinema.

Valentine’s weekend showings include “Freddy vs. Jason” on Friday the 13th — complete with commentary, jokes and trivia from drag performers Vanity Rex and Brentlee Bich — and “The Moment” starring Charli XCX on Saturday, Feb. 14.

And if you and your special someone enjoy crafting, bring your current work in-progress to the Kan-Kan’s first craft-along movie, Notting Hill on Sunday, Feb. 15.

For the ones who want to get wined and dined

🗓️ 5-10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14
📍 Parkside Public House, 2602 Shelby St.
🎟️ $60 for 2

A three-course meal for $30 in this economy is no small thing, and you can find it at Parkside Public House this Valentine’s Day.

The restaurant’s Valentine’s special will include a salad (kale caesar or mixed greens), a main entree (tenderloin with roasted potatoes and chimichurri, orecchiette with shrimp, or a cauli-steak) and dessert (bread pudding or sorbet). There are vegan options for all three courses.

“It can be difficult being in a mid-tier space; not quite casual, but not quite fine dining, but I think our ability to make something elevated at a more approachable price point is something special,” owner Lexi Haines said.

For the ones looking for some old fashioned fun

🗓️ 11 a.m. to midnight Saturday, Feb. 14
📍 Action Bowl, 1105 Prospect St.
🎟️ $40 per lane

Let your competitive side out to play at the only authentic duckpin bowling lanes in the Midwest.

Located on the fourth floor of the Fountain Square Theatre, the elevator ride up to Action Bowl feels more like a time machine transporting you back to 1928, when the lanes first opened.

And if you’d rather time-travel to the ‘50s and ‘60s, check out Atomic Bowl in the basement.

“Many guests say it is like walking back in time the first time they visit,” sales and event manager Loren Balingit said. “We have had couples date here, and for some, they (come back and) have their rehearsal dinner parties or even their wedding receptions. Eventually they bring their kids for an outing.”

If you decide to take your sweetheart to Action or Atomic Bowl, be sure to make a reservation by calling 317-686-6010.

For the thrill seekers

🗓️ Available times from 6:30-9:45 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, and Saturday, Feb. 14
📍 The Thirteenth Hour Haunted House, 915 S. Shortridge Road
🎟️ $29.99

Want to feel a sensation stronger than love this Valentine’s Day? Try adrenaline.

The Thirteenth Hour Haunted House will offer a Valentine’s Day themed haunted house for two nights only, sure to be full of jump scares and nightmare-inducing scenes.

Illuminated by the flicker of a single candle, brave souls will be met with the challenge of navigating their way through a sparsely lit wedding, cemetery, cathedral and orphanage — all during a raging storm.

Expect an uncanny adventure, a macabre love story and plenty of scares.

Note: The $29.99 tickets are for 9:15 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. both nights, while earlier times cost $32.99-34.99.

For the art lovers

🗓️ 6-9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, and 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14
📍Patina Gallery, 2201 E. Michigan St.
🎟️ Free, with suggested donation to support the gallery: toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, swiffer power mop pads, bottled or sparkling waters

If you love love, community and supporting local art, stop into Patina’s Valentine’s themed “Tunnel of Love” art show, opening Feb. 13 and available through Feb. 28.

Plus, you can make your own Valentine and enjoy a showing of cult classic “But I’m A Cheerleader” at the gallery from 1-3 p.m. Feb. 14.

For the ones who want to switch it up this Valentine’s Day

🗓️ Friday, Feb. 13, and Saturday, Feb. 14
📍 Historic Irvington Lodge, 5515 E. Washington St.
🎟️ Free, except for $13 tarot readings and $15 entry to Amorous Art

Indy’s hottest club has everything: a drag show, tarot readings, dance party, sex-positive art show and more — and you don’t need a significant other to get in.

Multiple events for different interests will be in the Historic Irvington Lodge, including Galentine’s Day, Wicked Valentine Weekend and an Amorous Art show.

Market Vintage’s Galentine’s Day on Friday and Saturday will offer fun ways to celebrate friendship, from face gem stations to a selfie station. Plus, expect exclusive Galentine’s Day deals on vintage clothes and antiques.

From 5-9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Wicked Valentine Weekend will be a coalescence of anti-Valentine’s Day energy and creativity. It’s hosted by Hampton & Co, Market Vintage and Black Cat Curio.

Bittersweet Bakery and horror-themed bar Monsterz Inc. will join the party on Saturday, Feb. 14, and there will be a Valentine’s Day market as well.

On the second and third floors of the lodge, admire sex-positive art and fashion at the seventh annual Amorous Art show from 6-11 p.m. Feb. 13 and 14. BRIDGE Collective started Amorous Art in 2018 to create a place for artists to share erotic art and the Indianapolis community to experience it.

Note that the Wicked Valentine drag show and Amorous Art show are 18+ only.
