Join the West Indianapolis Development Corp. on March 15 for a community conversation about affordable housing in West Indianapolis.

The conversation comes at a time when the cost of buying or renting a home has increased substantially over the last few years. A 2023 report from the Fair Housing Center of Central Indiana found that the increase in prices was mainly due to out-of-state investors purchasing homes and converting them into rentals.

Participating will be Michelle Annee, vice president of the WIDC Board of Directors; John Franklin Hay, the recently retired executive director of Near East Area Renewal; and Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity land acquisition and land development director Chris Barnett.

If you go

The conversation will be from 10 a.m. to noon at the Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center, 1920 W. Morris St.
