Dear Indy,
In Indianapolis, you don’t have to look very far to find sweets shops that are owned by Black residents.
At the Cavity Factory in Fountain Square, you can find stuffed cookies — and, now, crookies (a stuffed croissant topped with cookie dough).
On the north side, Teejay’s Sweet Tooth dishes out oversized desserts, such as scoops of ice cream smushed between donuts.
And there’s the Sweet Potato Bakery on the west side, where the sweet potato cheesecake bars are a hit.
The list goes on. Lucky for you, we have nine spots for you to check out.
