Listen to Play List here:

If your boss gave you a week off to rest, where would you go?
Mirror Indy’s staff is out July 1-5. We’re doing the work/life balance thing.
But, before shutting down our laptops, we sat down to write postcards to say “hey” from wherever we are, and to share our favorite places with you.
We also put together a slimmed-down version of Play List because it’s summer and these sunny days cannot be wasted.
If you missed the first edition of Play List, you can read or listen to the newsletter here. We went all out and got “Melanated Moments” podcast co-hosts Angela Brown and Joshua Thompson to read the first newsletter.
THIS WEEK IN ARTS & CULTURE

The dress code is unibrows and lots of color Friday, July 5, and Saturday, July 6, at The AMP at 16 Tech, for the Frida Kahlo-themed arts market. There will be crafts, music and costumes. Reporter Breanna Cooper has the details.

Need ideas for where to stop by on First Friday? Visit reporter Sophie Young’s guide to 14 art galleries in Indianapolis.

Choices, choices. In this world of endless flavors, what ice cream flavor should you choose? Food writer Lavanya Narayanan asked influencers and ice cream shops to give us the scoop for National Ice Cream Month.

WHAT WE’RE DOING

Tonight, I’ll be up until dawn watching a monster movie marathon at my favorite drive-in. My fiance and our two dogs are camped under the stars all night, more amused than scared. Classics like “Godzilla,” “Frankenstein” and “Jaws” are on the big screen until sunrise. Thank goodness I have all this candy and Green River soda from the concession stand.
If we get too tired, we head to the barn out back to play pinball and sip on a Choc-Ola.
