Students and professional jazz musicians will perform the works of Michael Jackson, Wes Montgomery, Cole Porter and other Indiana music legends at the fourth annual Freddie Hubbard Memorial Jazz Fest.
The Feb. 14 festival will bring together bands from nine Indiana high schools to honor jazz icon Freddie Hubbard, an IPS graduate.
Arsenal Tech, Crispus Attucks and George Washington high schools will be represented at the event, which will feature student performances from 2-8 p.m. Feb. 14 at Arsenal Tech’s Anderson Auditorium.
The Butler University Jazz Combo will go on at 5:30 p.m.
Shortridge High School graduate Pharez Whitted — a trumpeter, band leader and composer — will also perform at the event.
Each performance will feature renditions of at least one piece by a prominent Hoosier musician.
Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. A full schedule of performances and ticket information are available online.
Concessions will be offered. Proceeds benefit the Tech Jazz Band.
