History buffs and Ken Burns enthusiasts are invited to celebrate National Civics Day at a free, family-friendly community event.

The Benjamin Harrison Presidential site will host “America 250 Pre-Party: A National Civics Day Celebration,” from 4-6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27.

The event comes as the U.S. prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary in 2026.

Refreshments are free and guests can explore interactive stations hosted by organizations including Indiana Humanities, Future Presidents of America, the League of Women Voters and the Marion County Election Board.

Each station will offer activities and experiences centered around the U.S. Constitution and the belief systems that inspired the country’s founders.

The evening will also feature a special premiere of “The American Revolution,” the Ken Burns documentary series set to air on WFYI in November.
