Community members can learn more about a proposed data center in Martindale Brightwood at a public meeting.Â
The meeting is 6-7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2 at the Douglass Park Family Center, 1616 E. 25th St.
A representative from the data center developer, Metrobloks, will be at the meeting. Residents are encouraged to bring questions, comments and concerns about the proposal to the meeting.
Metrobloks, a California-based company, wants to build a nearly 14-acre data center near 25th Street and Sherman Drive at the site of the former Sherman Drive-In Theater.
Many residents have been vocal about their opposition to the development, with many concerned about rising utility costs and environmental impact.Â
Earlier this month, public comment for the proposal was pushed back after residents requested the petition be continued. The proposal will now be heard by the hearing examiner for the Metropolitan Development Commission on Thursday, Feb. 12.
