As a host for events such as the NCAA Division I Men’s basketball Final Four, WNBA All Star game, NFL Scouting Combine and teams like the Colts, Fever and Pacers, it’s no wonder Indianapolis is considered a sports town.
But tickets to those events and games can be pricey or hard to get.
Plus, they can sometimes happen a lot farther away from home than you think. Some teams with Indianapolis in their name that play elsewhere, include the Indy Ignite volleyball team and Indy Fuel hockey team, which both play in Fishers, or the new Indianapolis Capitols football team that will play in Westfield.
Mirror Indy has put together a list of sports events you can attend right here in Marion County that won’t leave you broke or traveling long distances.

Soccer
The Indy Eleven soccer team has played “the beautiful game” in Indianapolis for more than a decade. The team was established in 2013 as part of the North American Soccer League and played its first game the following year. The team moved to the USL Championship soccer league in 2018.
The team name is a reference to the 11 players on the field for the team during a match. It’s also an homage to the 11th Indiana Infantry Regiment, an Indianapolis volunteer unit that fought during the Civil War.
The team plays downtown at IU Indianapolis’ Michael A. Carroll Track and Soccer Stadium from March through October.
Ticket prices for regular season games range from $20 to about $46. This season the team has a new deal called the Indy Eleven Family 4-Pack that gets you four tickets, free parking, a $20 concessions voucher, a 20% merchandise discount and access to the pre-match Fun Zone.
Check out the team’s 2026 schedule.
Ultimate frisbee
If you like the stadium experience but want something a little different, you should check out Indy’s pro ultimate frisbee scene.
Ultimate frisbee is a mix between soccer, football and basketball. The goal of the game is to get a frisbee into a goal on the opposite side of the 70-yard field. Players get it there by passing it to a teammate, but once they catch it they have to stop. Players on the opposing team can try to intercept the disc and take over on offense. You can learn more about the rules in this video.

The city has two professional ultimate frisbee teams, the Indianapolis Alley Cats of the Ultimate Frisbee Association and the Premiere Ultimate League’s Indianapolis Red.
The Alley Cats are a men’s team that plays its home games at Kuntz Stadium on the west side. Its league lasts from May through July. Single game tickets range from $10 to $16. Season tickets start at $89.
Their season starts May 9. Check out the Alley Cats schedule and ticket price details.
The Indianapolis Red are a team of women that play at Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School’s Brebeuf Stadium, at 2801 W. 86th St. Its league lasts from April through June. Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for kids. Season tickets are $40.
Their first home game is April 12. Check out the Indianapolis Red’s schedule and ticket price details.

Racing
With about 350,000 people from all around the world roaming and partying throughout the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the Indianapolis 500 is known as “the greatest spectacle in racing.” But it’s not the only racing event in town.

Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, just past Clermont, has a more personal alternative for people with the need for speed — Wild Wednesdays.

🎟️ $35 to race, $15 to watch
For just $35, people can bring their own car, truck or motorcycle to race on the park’s quarter-mile drag race track on seven Wednesdays throughout the year. It doesn’t matter if it’s a souped up muscle car or the family minivan. If it’s street legal and can pass a tech inspection, it can race.
You can also watch the races for $15. Admission is free for children under 12. The first Wild Wednesday of the year happens April 8.
Of course, you can also check out the NASCAR and National Hot Rod Association races at the track throughout the year.
Roller Derby
Roller skating is a fun way to spend the day, but for some it’s too tame and requires more aggression. That’s why roller derby exists.
The point of roller derby is simple. A team of five skaters has to get their lead skater, called a jammer, around a track. But the opposing team’s job is to prevent that, so they push, shove and do whatever they can to stop that from happening. And it all happens on four wheels at high speeds.
The sport is a lot of fun to watch, but the skaters’ names are even better. There’s skaters with names like Fiona Grapple, Flannery O’Clobber, Mo M. Down, The Killer Purple and many more.

There are several leagues in Indianapolis you can check out, including Naptown Roller Derby and Circle City Roller Derby, that compete mainly at Perry Park.
Presale tickets are $10, and tickets at the gate are $15. Kids under 6 get free admission.
The first Naptown Roller Derby home bout is May 9, and Circle City Roller Derby’s is May 16.
Baseball
The Indianapolis Indians have been a part of the city for more than a century.
The team was established in 1902. It played at venues such as the former Washington Park Baseball Field on the east side and Bush Stadium on the west side before finally landing right in the middle, at Victory Field downtown.

The team is a minor league affiliate for the MLB’s Pittsburgh Pirates. Several Hall of Famers, like New York Yankees legend Roger Maris, Minnesota Twins first baseman Harmon Killebrew and fastball pitcher and pigeon menace Randy Johnson, have suited up for the Indians over the years.

Wrestling
Indianapolis has a thriving wrestling scene, with wrestling leagues, called promotions, all across the city.
In Fountain Square, Naptown All Pro Wrestling holds events at the Upland Brewing Co. Fountain Square and the Fountain Square Theatre throughout the year, with ticket prices at about $20 for general admission and $15 for ages 18 and under.
The next major events it will hold are the Danger Invitational on April 26 and the free Back Outside event May 16.

On the west side, Wild Championship Wrestling Outlaws holds events every Friday night at the WCWO Arena at 1151 Kentucky Ave. Tickets are $12 or $15 for front row seats.
Midwest Championship International Wrestling also holds events at venues throughout the west side, including the Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center and Municipal Gardens Family Center. Tickets are about $12. Check out their Facebook page for information on future events.
