Candidate Q&A

What makes you qualified or uniquely fit for this position?

Before this campaign, I worked across government, nonprofits, and private sectors on housing, infrastructure, and economic development. But the campaign itself is my best qualification. We’ve knocked on tens of thousands of doors and had real conversations with residents across Marion County. I don’t believe in top-down politics. I believe in listening first, building solutions around what people are actually experiencing, and staying accountable to the community throughout. That’s exactly how I’ll govern.

What do you believe are the top three most pressing issues in your district and how will you address them?

Three things consistently come up: the cost of living, housing and infrastructure. On cost of living, I’ll push for policies that lower prices on prescription drugs, utilities, and housing while directing more federal resources to working families. On housing, I’ll prioritize affordable development, stronger tenant protections, and reducing the barriers slowing down construction. On infrastructure, I’ll focus on bringing federal funding home and ensuring those dollars actually reach neighborhoods. The through-line for all three is proactive, coordinated leadership that delivers real results locally.

What is your stance on how the federal government is handling immigration enforcement?

The current system is causing harm and we can’t reform our way out of it. ICE as it currently operates lacks transparency, due process, and accountability. I support abolishing it and replacing it with a system grounded in those principles. Agents who have engaged in wrongdoing should be investigated and prosecuted. We should not be investing more in a broken system; we should be building one that is lawful, humane, and actually works.

Many residents are concerned about the cost of food, housing and health care. How would you work to address these concerns?

Poverty is a policy failure, and you see it every day in Indianapolis. We have the resources to ensure people can afford basic necessities. We’ve just made the wrong choices about how to use them. I’ll fight to lower costs, expand access to care and housing, and ensure our district receives its fair share of federal investment. A budget is a moral document, it’s time ours reflected what working families actually need.

If you win, how can Marion County constituents expect their lives to improve?

Most people aren’t thinking about politics, but they feel its consequences every day. My goal is simple. Government should actually work for you. That means more federal resources coming into this community, better coordination across federal, state, and local levels, and a representative who is present, accessible, and accountable year-round — not just during election season. Progress takes time, but you’ll feel the difference in how seriously your concerns are taken and how hard someone is fighting to deliver.
