Candidate Q&A

What makes you qualified or uniquely fit for this position?

I’ve spent over 20 years on the front lines working with students, families, and veterans, helping them navigate financial aid, education systems, and federal programs. I’ve seen firsthand how policy impacts people’s lives — where it works and where it breaks down. That perspective matters because it grounds my approach in real-world outcomes. What sets me apart is simple: I don’t offer general ideas, I bring forward detailed, actionable plans designed to pass, be implemented and deliver results.

What do you believe are the top three most pressing issues in your district and how will you address them?

The biggest pressures people are facing are the cost of living, access to affordable healthcare, and housing availability. I see it every day working with students, families, and veterans, and I’m living it myself as a working dad with two kids in college making $60,000 a year. Like many Hoosiers, I’ve stood in a grocery store and had to put items back because prices are too high.

What is your stance on how the federal government is handling immigration enforcement?

Our current immigration system is chaotic, outdated and inconsistent. It fails to secure the border, fails to process people efficiently and too often targets the wrong individuals while real threats slip through. I will move to abolish ICE as it exists today and replace it with a modern Immigration Enforcement Service that is smaller, smarter and focused on public safety. Under my Unity Pathway Act, enforcement shifts away from mass civil crackdowns and toward targeting human trafficking networks, cartel activity, labor exploitation and violent offenders. Civil immigration compliance is handled through a structured legal process, not fear-based raids. The plan also creates a clear, earned pathway to legal status with background checks, tax compliance and long-term accountability. It is fully funded, generates over $100 billion in revenue and reinvests those funds into American communities, including housing, mental health services, and local support systems. This replaces a system built on fear and inconsistency with one built on order, accountability and results. I will focus on lowering everyday costs through targeted economic reforms, expanding access to affordable healthcare by addressing root cost drivers and increasing housing supply through federal incentives that support development where it’s needed most. These are daily realities, and they are solvable with clear plans and accountability.

Many residents are concerned about the cost of food, housing and health care. How would you work to address these concerns?

Congress directly shapes the costs families feel every day, and right now those costs are outpacing wages. I support moving toward a universal healthcare system because the current system is too expensive and leaves too many people behind. In the immediate term, I will work to lower costs by targeting prescription drug pricing, reducing administrative waste and increasing competition. On housing, I will support federal incentives that increase supply, especially for workforce and starter housing, while reducing barriers that delay development. To address the cost of food and everyday goods, I will push for stronger oversight of price manipulation and supply chain bottlenecks, while supporting policies that stabilize domestic production. This is about making everyday life more affordable through targeted policy, not broad promises.

If you win, how can Marion County constituents expect their lives to improve?

People will have a representative who shows up, listens, and follows through. That means real progress on lowering costs, better access to essential services and leadership focused on solving problems. My goal is simple — make government work better for the people it serves.
