An eastside neighborhood is looking for an artist to create a piece for East 10th Street.
The Little Flower Neighborhood Association received a $30,000 grant to turn a portion of East 10th Street into a cultural district. The district will stretch from Sherman Drive to Leland Avenue. The money will be used for events, safety projects, community outreach and beautification.
Applications are open for artists to create a mural or sculpture for the neighborhood. The piece should celebrate community and create a sense of place. The deadline to apply is Sept. 20.
Artists can also apply to create the East 10th Street Cultural District logo. Applications for the logo are also due Sept. 20.
