Low-income residents can lower their monthly utility bills through Citizen Energy Group’s House to Home program.

Each year, the local utility provider divides $90,000 among three community development corporations that help residents make their homes more energy efficient: Shepherd Community Center, Martindale Brightwood Community Development Corp. and Southeast Neighborhood Development

The funds allow neighbors to receive new weatherstripping, insulation, furnace upgrades and more.

To be eligible, residents must own and live in their home and be located in the community development corporation’s ZIP code, which includes 46201, 46203, 46208 and 46218.

The household income must be less than the following:

  • 1 person: $39,150
  • 2 people: $51,196
  • 3 people: $63,242
  • 4 people: $75,289
  • 5 people: $87,335
  • 6 people: $99,381
  • 7 people: $101,639
  • 8 people: $103,898

Residents can apply by emailing a list of two or three needed repairs to one of the above community development corporations: housing@sendcdc.org, dennisw@shepherdcommunity.org and Martindale Brightwood’s home repair interest form
