The Indianapolis Public Library will host its first Black Health Fair on Oct. 14.
The event includes free health screenings and resources from more than 30 vendors, including Eskenazi Health, the Damien Center, the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis and the city’s clinician-led response team. Participants can meet with these groups between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. at Central Library, 40 E. St. Clair St.Â
Dr. Virginia Caine, who leads the Marion County Public Health Department, will also speak about community health and accessing care.
The event is organized by the library’s Center for Black Literature & Culture, a program that celebrates Black history through a collection of more than 25,000 items, including books, CDs, movies and magazines.
