The Indiana Black Breastfeeding Coalition will host free childbirth education classes starting Saturday, Jan. 17. 

The 5-week series includes information about pregnancy, labor and postpartum care. Expecting parents will learn how to create a birth plan, pick a provider for delivery and get connected with a doula. Other lessons touch on nutrition, bodily changes and health warning signs. 

Classes will be held on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon at the Marion County Public Health Department’s Healthy Start office, 4087 Millersville Road. Seats are limited. Reserve a spot on Eventbrite before Jan. 24.
