From comedy and horror to romance, there’s a short film for everyone at the 2025 Indy Shorts International Film Festival.
The event will showcase over 200 short films from more than 30 countries at Living Room Theaters and Newfields. Each indoor and outdoor screening will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers and actors.

Attendees can purchase individual tickets or festival passes. Tickets range from $10-$13. Fest passes will offer a streaming, VIP and Duo VIP options. Heartland Film Members receive 20% off individual tickets and fest passes.
There’s also a chance you will see the next Academy Award nominated short films. Indy Shorts is an Academy Award-qualifying film festival for the categories: Best Live Action, Best Documentary and Best Animated.
The three grand prize-winning films at the festival will receive an Oscar qualification. Filmmakers are also competing for more than $35,000 in cash prizes.
You’ll find a few famous faces in the films like Andre Holland of “Moonlight,” Alicia Silverstone of “Clueless,” and Sam Rockwell of “White Lotus” and Lena Headey of “Games of Thrones.”
Students in Ball State University’s Radiance Cinema Program will premiere six short films as part of the festival’s Indiana Spotlight Programs on July 23. The semester-long program allows students studying media, theatre and dance to produce, write, direct, edit, crew, and act.
During the six-day festival, a jury committee will select films for Indy Short’s Summer Nights: Award Winners Program.
