Every third Wednesday, spoken-word performers can share their work during an open mic at the Tube Factory Artspace in Garfield Park.

The free event is part of NIGHTJAR, a local poetry series, and is hosted by C.S. Carrier and Michelle Niemann.

It’s an opportunity for poets to share narrative, lyric and experimental writing in an inclusive space. The event sometimes includes readings from featured writers before the open mic begins. Some open mic events may include a prompt.

People can attend the next NIGHTJAR 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Tube Factory Artspace, 1125 Cruft St. Doors open at 6:30.
