Eastside kids can pick up free books at an upcoming literacy night.

Warren Township schools officials are offering a free, districtwide Family Literacy Event on May 19.

The event will feature food, drinks, literacy activities, prizes and appearances by local authors and animal entertainment group, Silly Safaris.

Families can visit for free from 4:30-6:30 p.m. May 19 at the Indianapolis Marriott East, 7202 E. 21st St.
