Free and low-cost vaccines will be available at an upcoming clinic on the city’s east side.
Indianapolis Public Schools officials are urging families to take advantage of the clinic scheduled for 4:30-8 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Shepherd Community Center, 4107 E. Washington St.
The clinic will offer all vaccines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Clinic providers will use state immunization records to determine what vaccines attendees need.
To refuse a specific vaccine, attendees are asked to contact the Indiana Immunization Coalition at clinic@vaccinateindiana.org at least 48 hours before attending the clinic.
Advance registration is available, though walk-ins are also welcome. A parent or guardian’s consent is required for those under 18 years old.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their insurance cards. The clinic takes all insurance types, including Medicare and Medicaid.
Most vaccines will be free for those without insurance. Only the shingles and adult RSV vaccines may have a copay.
To register online, visit patients.vaxcare.com/registration, use the enrollment code IN65942 and select Shepherd Community-8/15/24.
