Tea’s Me Café, founded by WNBA Hall of Famer and Indiana Fever icon Tamika Catchings, will close its original 22nd Street location effective Dec. 30, 2025.
The company announced the closure in a statement Wednesday morning, adding that the decision is part of a “strategic shift in focus.”
Since its founding in 2017, the 22nd Street café has been a hub for community engagement, leadership development, and entrepreneurship, employing and training over 200 team members.
“22nd Street will always hold a special place in my heart,” Catchings said. “It’s where Tea’s Me began, where so many people grew, and where we built a foundation grounded in service and community. As difficult as it is to close this chapter, we’re excited about what’s ahead.”
Tea’s Me will continue operations at its Tea’s Me Community Café at Tarkington and Tea’s Me IU Indianapolis, while expanding its university café model, which focuses on student leadership and workforce development.
To commemorate the legacy of its original location, Tea’s Me is hosting a Bottled Tea Blowout Sale, offering wellness-centered bottled teas at special prices during the final weeks of operation at 22nd Street.
The bottled tea line, launched officially in January 2025, features flavors such as Pomegranate Blueberry and Tropical Cyclone.
Community members are invited to celebrate the memories and impact of the 22nd Street location, with Tamika Catchings hosting “Tuesdays with Tamika” events on Dec. 16 and Dec. 20 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. alongside Tea’s Me General Manager Darla Harmon.
The original Tea’s Me Café location is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 140 E. 22nd St. in Indianapolis.
