The Brain Injury Association of Indiana will put on “Stride with a Specialist” from 1-3 p.m. Feb. 28 on the north side.
The event will connect brain injury survivors, providers and caregivers with a local doctor who can answer questions and share resources.
In 2023, more than 23,000 people in Indiana experienced a traumatic brain injury, including cases resulting in death and hospitalization. Causes include falls, car accidents and gun violence.
Participants will be guided through a progressive muscle relaxation exercise. Then, they can walk or roll together on an indoor track at the Jewish Community Center, 6701 Hoover Road.
“Whether you have questions about a specific career field, want to explore the latest innovations or simply need guidance on what to ask your provider, this space is for you,” an organizer wrote on Eventbrite.
