You can take a shower for free at Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center every Monday starting June 15.
The westside neighborhood center is working with homeless service provider Food 4 Souls to provide the showers, along with hygiene items and clothes. All are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The mobile shower units will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m at Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center, 1920 W. Morris St.
Towels and washcloths will be provided.
Food 4 Souls also has showers available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Fridays at Southeast Community Services, 924 Shelby St.
The showers are available until temperatures consistently dip to freezing. Vickie Tyner, executive director of Food 4 Souls, said shower units are usually out until late October or early November.
You can find more information, including volunteer opportunities, on Food 4 Souls’ website. You can also reach out to the organization through Facebook.
