Counselors with Indianapolis Public Schools will offer free scholarship assistance to IPS middle and high schoolers from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Arsenal Tech High School cafeteria, 1500 E. Michigan St.

Counselors and industry experts will be available to help students prepare for what the district has dubbed the three E’s: enrollment, enlistment and employment. They will provide assistance with scholarships, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid form and enrollment in the state’s 21st Century Scholars program.

This is the first year Indiana high school seniors are required to complete the FAFSA, which is the first step to access federal funds to help pay for college.

“Whether you are a student charting your path to college, career, the military, or a parent keen on guiding your child’s journey and obtaining the information and assistance needed to help your student reach their goals, this event serves as a compass to navigate their road to success,” Ashley Beverly, an IPS family and community engagement manager, said in a news release.

The event is free, but students and their families can register in advance by clicking here.
