Need help keeping the lights and heat on?
The Burmese American Community Institute is helping residents apply for Marion County’s annual Energy Assistance Program. The goal is to help low-income families with a one-time utility bill payment. Funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis through April 2026.
Recipients must live in Marion County and be a United States citizen, U.S. national or a qualified non-citizen.
Families can qualify for the program if their household income over three months is under a certain amount. The limit is based on how many people are in the household:
- 1 person family or household: $8,059
- 2 people: $10,539
- 3 people: $13,018
- 4 people: $15,498
- 5 people: $17,978
- 6 people: $20,458
- 7 people; $20,923
- 8 people: $21,388
To receive application support from the Burmese American Community Institute, families must register for funds over the phone or online. Then, someone will reach out to schedule an appointment and evaluate your request. Families can register for funds online or over the phone, 317-734-3977.
