Kids can learn about earthworms at a free event on Earth Day at Brookside Park.

Earthworm Appreciation Day is 5-6 p.m. April 22 at the Brookside Park Family Center, 3500 Brookside Parkway S. Drive. 

The event is open to kids ages 3-10. Attendees can create crafts, make dirt pudding and compete in a relay race. The event will also feature an earthworm touch bin.

Registration is required and can be completed online.
