In honor of Assistive Technology Awareness Day, Easterseals Crossroads will host an open house for people with disabilities and their families to learn about assistive tools.
The event will be from 4-6 p.m. April 22 at Easterseals Crossroads, 4740 Kingsway Drive.
Assistive technologies can help people gain independence and overcome barriers. Examples of assistive tech include screen readers for people with low vision, communication devices for people with language impairments and switches to help those with physical disabilities control wheelchairs or computers.
Attendees can test out these devices at the event and meet the specialists who educate people on how to use them.
If you’re unable to attend in-person, you can learn about Easterseals’ technology program remotely at 10 a.m. April 22 on Zoom. Join the Zoom using this link.
