Candidate Q&A

What makes you qualified or uniquely fit for this position?

As a practicing top Indiana attorney for the last twenty years fighting special interests and government oppression and illegal or unconstitutional conduct, I am uniquely qualified and positioned to evaluate and draft legislation most beneficial to working Hoosiers in the District.

What do you believe are the top three most pressing issues in your district and how will you address them?

After speaking with several throughout the District, the recurring and common struggles they mention are healthcare, housing and how to afford daily and monthly living expenses. I plan to attack these issues head-on first with Comprehensive Healthcare reform, second with doing all I can to return as many main street dollars back to the rural and smaller communities in the District and not to Wall Street and Billionaires, and last to unlock federal incentives to promote the development and purchase of affordable housing throughout the district.

What is your stance on how the federal government is handling immigration enforcement?

As I have stated on Instagram and Facebook, I believe the current leadership in ICE and DHS has demonstrated a complete lack of leadership and training and have squandered what in the past has been respectable immigration enforcement. I feel for those seasoned agents and employees at DHS and ICE that our witnessing incompetence and embarrassment flood into their ranks. To those law breakers or excessive force agents, they will be held responsible regardless of their position or title under the full force of our criminal and civil laws.

Many residents are concerned about the cost of food, housing and health care. How would you work to address these concerns?

As food, housing and healthcare are the issues I hear the most from voters, as stated above, I intend to tackle those issues first and directly when I reach Washington next January.

If you win, how can Marion County constituents expect their lives to improve?

I want to return confidence and pride in Congress for all voters throughout the District, particularly those in the southern three townships in Marion County. Whether they are Republican or Democrat, Hoosiers have been embarrassed and deeply disappointed by the actions or inactions of the current incumbent in Congress and locally with the mayor’s office. I want to fight to get them the resources so that can get to the grocery store without breaking the axle on their vehicle and be able to afford quality and healthy food for their families, and be able to go to the doctor without going bankrupt. It is time someone actually stands up and fights for real Hoosiers.
