Halloween is a time for costumes, fun frights and, of course, lots of candy.
Here are some Halloween events happening around the west side for kids to take part in the spookiest time of the year. The events are free unless otherwise noted.
Mars Hill trunk or treat
📍 Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 908, 3011 S. Lockburn St.

Show up in your costume for free food and lots of candy.
Krannert Park trunk or treat
📍 Krannert Park, 605 S. High School Road
🗓️ 1-2 p.m. Oct. 26
🎟️ $3 per person
Registration is required. To register, call 317-327-7375 or go to indyparks.org.
Ben Davis Little League trunk or treat
📍 Wayne Sports Park, 7558 W. 21st St.
🗓️ 2-5 p.m. Oct. 26
Trunk-decorating contest, games, food and music. Setup begins at 1 p.m.
International District trunk or treat
📍 International District Community Center, 3540 Commercial Drive
🗓️ 3-6 p.m. Oct. 26
Live music, food vendors and face painting.
Speedway Parks and Recreation trunk or treat
📍 Speedway Senior High School Parking lot, 5357 W. 25th St.
🗓️ 5-6:15 p.m. Oct. 26
Decorate a pumpkin and bring it to the event for a contest.
Charity House trunk or treat
📍 Charity House, 2730 S. Tibbs Ave.
🗓️ 6-7:30 p.m. Oct. 26
Candy and trunk decorating contest.
6th Annual Speedway Spooktacular
📍 Speedway Senior High School Auxiliary Gym, 5357 W. 25th St.
🗓️ 6-8 p.m. Oct. 28
🎟️ First 500 kids enter free. Then, it’s $5 per child with free admission for adults accompanying children.
Games, prices and concessions for kids up to 12 years old. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
All proceeds go to the Speedway High School music department.
International Marketplace trunk or treat
📍 Indy’s Global Village, 4233 Lafayette Road
🗓️ 5-7 p.m. Oct. 30
Enjoy music, food, candy, prizes and a costume contest.
Krannert Park costume contest
📍 Krannert Park, 605 S. High School Road
🗓️ 1-6 p.m. Oct. 31
Show up to Krannert Park in your costume, get your photo taken and be featured on the park’s Facebook page.
Lynhurst Baptist Church trunk or treat
📍 Lynhurst Baptist Church, 1250 S. Lynhurst Drive
🗓️ 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31
