Come to Haughville on Sept. 20 for a free, family-friendly event that celebrates the common bond shared by many cultures throughout the world — rice and beans.

The Rice and Beans Festival will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Fonseca Theatre Company, 2508 W. Michigan St. The festival will feature international takes on rice and beans, including jollof rice from West Africa, rajma chawal from India and red beans and rice from New Orleans.

The festival will also have live music, local arts and crafts, and fun for kids.
