The family of Indiana Broadcast Hall of Fame member and community activist Amos Brown, who died in 2015 after a 40-year career in Indianapolis, will honor six people who have made contributions to the Indianapolis media landscape. 

The winners will be recognized 5:30-8:30 p.m. June 26 at the inaugural Amos C. Brown III Legacy Awards at the Hirons Agency, 422 E. New York St. 

They are:

  • CHANGE MAKER: Tina Cosby, host of Community Connection and community public affairs director of Radio One Indianapolis
  • VISIONARY: DuJuan McCoy, founder and owner of Circle City Broadcasting
  • INNOVATOR: Shannon Williams, chief operating officer and executive vice president of The Mind Trust
  • TRAILBLAZER: Rafael Sanchez, multimedia journalist with FOX59/CBS4 and formerly WRTV
  • LEGEND: Derrik Thomas, former longtime WRTV journalist and member of the Indiana Broadcast Hall of Fame
  • ICON: Barbara Boyd, former longtime WRTV journalist, member of the Indiana Broadcasters Hall of Fame, philanthropist and community advocate
