The Southside US Colored Troop Coalition will host workshops about property ownership, estate planning and land preservation.

Sessions are scheduled for 6-8 p.m. at Stanley Strader Park, 2850 Bethel Ave., on the following dates and topics:

April 14 — Family Land and Legacy: Who Owns What?

April 28 — Protecting Family Land: Simple Steps to Keep Property in the Family

May 12 — Don’t Lose the House: Taxes, Courts and Planning Ahead

Marie Beason, capacity building director at Prosperity Indiana, will facilitate the workshops.

The workshops are meant to give you tools and knowledge to protect your assets and ensure clear succession for property. Workshops will cover how names are added to or taken off deeds, how to avoid tax sales and other topics.
